Lantern Featured in GoodFirms’ 2026 Website Development Cost Survey

Jun 24, 2026

Lantern Digital took part in GoodFirms’ 2026 research on what web development actually costs. Here’s a short summary of what the survey covered.

Lantern Digital was among the agencies featured in GoodFirms’ latest industry research, Website Development Cost in 2026: What Global Web Development Companies Actually Charge.

GoodFirms surveyed more than 300 web development companies worldwide to map out how websites are actually priced — moving past round-number estimates toward what real projects involve and why quotes vary so widely from one studio to the next.

A few of the themes the survey looked at:

  • How pricing scales with scope — from simple brochure sites to custom platforms with their own content management and integrations.
  • What separates a low-cost build from a high-end one, beyond the page count.
  • Where the bulk of a project’s budget tends to go: design, development, content, performance, and ongoing upkeep.

A recurring theme throughout: price tends to track scope rather than markup. The most expensive builds in the survey weren’t really “just websites” — they were larger platforms with the engineering to match.
